With the transformation of Gingham complete, the Cohn Restaurant Group officially launched their new BO-beau Kitchen & Garden last night to the joy of La Mesa residents who hunger for restaurant options.

The CRG's main scene-setter, Philippe Beltran, designed the bi-level dining room, bar and outdoor patio (the "garden") which has casual picnic tables, communal tables and more intimate seating arranged among the olive trees.

Though there are a few holdover favorites from Ocean Beach's BO-beau, including those famous crispy Brussels sprouts, new chef Benjamin Moore put together an original menu of "sophisticated comfort food with global influences", with input from the CRG group's executive chef/partner Deborah Scott and his former mentor at Parallel 33, chef Amiko Gubbins, recently hired to be in charge of "Special Ops: Food and Flavor".

Sunday brunch is on the way, along with a snack menu for the bar during Sunday afternoon "game time". And a 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. social hour will offer drink and food specials.
