BAY PARK— Morena Boulevard is building itself a nice little restaurant row; the newest resident is Dan Diego's, a European cafe and pub scheduled to open before February. The pub will serve Western European-inspired dishes (the founder is Italian and Irish, and managed a Belgian bar), offer wine and 80 kinds of beer, 18 of those on tap, and operate a cafe serving coffee and housemade bread and pastries. The pub will be open from 3 to 11 p.m. and also serve a weekend brunch. [EaterWire]
Little Italy — For those who were mourning the absence of Pete's Quality Meats (the sandwich shop closed late last year and its building was seemingly razed overnight), here's cause for celebration. A tipster reports that it'll be back, as Pete's Bar & Grille, opening in the same, albeit larger, space as a full service restaurant with wine and beer. The new building at 1742 1/2 India Street is still under construction; a May or June launch is projected. [EaterWire]
