akinori.pngHillcrest's new Akinori Sushi is worth a visit just for the food (call ahead to request the omakase, or chef's choice menu) but an added bonus is the ability to pair your meal with local craft beer, which is still a relative rarity at San Diego sushi spots. Chef/owner Akinori Sato is a veteran itamae (Surfside Sushi) and personally selected four Monkey Paw Brewery beers to to go with his sushi —a tart cherry gose, a rauchbier, an IPA and a smoked brown ale.
