Instead of dispatching a beer rep to a restaurant's beer dinner, Green Flash Brewing Co.'s bringing the chef to the brewery and launching the Green Flash Supper Club, a series of pop-up dinners that will be held at their Mira Mesa tasting room.
During Beer Week, the brewery hosted a successful pairing event that matched their limited edition sour, Flanders Drive, with a pork belly dish from Chef Hanis Cavin of Carnitas Snack Shack. That night spawned this series, whose events will be true pop-up's since the brewery doesn't have a dining room (though the tasting room will get a bit of a white tablecloth-makeover) or a kitchen — chefs will have to tote along their own cooking gear.
Brewmaster Chuck Silva, whose scored two golds and a silver at this year's GABF, will likely be in attendance at the pop-up dinner's launch on Monday, December 10. The night's guest restaurant will be North Park's The Smoking Goat, who'll cook a five course menu that includes crispy beef tongue and braised lamb belly, with Green Flash's Tasting Room Manager Dave Adams overseeing the beer pairings. Dinner starts at 6 p.m.; tickets are $55.
