Our latest addition to the Asian grilled meats scene is an eatery which is aiming to add a slice of high-end Korean barbecue to Kearny Mesa. Inspired by the menus available at top upscale restaurants in Los Angeles' popular Koreatown, Prime Grill is offering prime cuts of beef, from prime Wagyu boneless short rib to prime rib eye, and other premium proteins including thick-sliced pork belly and king prawns. There are also barbecue combos, which feed three to five people, and customizable combos that feature smaller portions of meat and come with the prerequisite side dishes, called banchan, as well as steamed egg and soybean paste stew. All tables are equipped with grills, where the restaurant's staff handles the cooking duty for each group.
Now open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 pm., Prime Grill also has a good assortment of traditional Korean dishes, including spicy tofu stew, hot stone pots with rice and various soups.
